and selling cause-related and advertiser-supported marketing
campaigns. Managing the station’s community outreach projects for
ABC7 and NewsChannel8. Creating and managing production and
distribution of Sales and Public Affairs collateral and video production.
Managing producer for special events and related live broadcasts.
Responsible for Sales Promotion and Public Affairs spot/psa
schedules, tracking related budgets and interface with Creative
Services, Client Services, News, Operations, ABC Affiliate Relations
and wjla.com.

Accomplishments:

Created Association Marketing Campaign to attract “new to television”
advertisers and related revenue to the station. Directly responsible for
bringing in well over a half-million dollars in new business revenue
within the first 18 months of start up. Clients include the National MS
Society, Carol Jean Cancer Foundation, Volunteers of America and
the Embassies of Germany, The Netherlands, South Korea,
Kazakhstan and Taiwan.

Produced a long-form video presentation for a White House Summit on
Savings and Retirement. Received the “Outstanding Consumer
Promotion Large Market Television” Gold Medallion Award from
PROMAX  International.

Conceptualized, wrote and produced video sales presentations which
helped generate millions of dollars in new business plus increased the
station’s share of annual media buys. Nominated for a 2001 and a
2005 Emmy Award.  Received 1998 and 2001 Telly awards and  
instrumental in helping station receive a 1997 Community Service
Emmy Award and a 2004 nomination.


Director of Advertising & Promotion 1992-1995 - for ABC/Capital
Cities owned & operated WRQX-FM, Washington, DC. Developed
marketing strategy. Managed a staff of 8 people. Developed
advertising creative for print, radio and television. Responsible for
planning and managing special events, media buys, live broadcasts
and advertising budget.

Marketing Consultant/ National Sales Rep 2001–2002 for Wolf
Interactive Websites.  Developed marketing plan, national publicity and
sales strategy and subscriber acquisitions for interactive radio forum
web service targeted to Talk, News/Talk and Sports/Talk formatted
radio stations.

Media/Public Relations Consultant 1997-2001 – for the Society of
American Foresters’ national public and media relations
communications plan.  The objective was to increase public awareness
of the Society, its issues, and to showcase the nonprofit organization’s
historic centennial.  Developed a three-year media plan including
appropriate project time lines. Recommended necessary media
including production companies and other vendors to implement the
communications plan.        

Accomplishments

Increased public awareness of SAF and forestry issues. Generated
considerable local & national media exposure including, but not limited
to spokesperson interviews on radio talk shows in Washington and Los
Angeles. Negotiated PSA airtime on radio & television stations in 61
markets with an estimated media value of over 1.9 million dollars.
